Disability Advocacy Services
If you are unable to work, or work a reduced amount of hours at your job due to a disabling medical condition, Midcities Disability Advocates can help determine if you are eligible for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or other disability benefits such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
We understand that applying for Social Security Disability benefits can be a long and complicated process. Our dedicated and knowledgeable team thoroughly prepares and files your disability application once we become your legally authorized representative. We can help you get the benefits to which you are entitled and will be here for you every step of the way. During the course of your claim, our advocacy team will be in regular contact with you, the Social Security Administration, and other government agencies to maximize the chances of you successfully being approved for benefits. We will explain what programs you are eligible for, help you understand each program, and detail each step we will take along with you until a determination is made on your claim. In the event of a denial, we will assist in filing an appeal.
If you currently have a pending disability claim and do not have representation, we may still be able to help you. We represent individuals at every stage of the process, including hearings. If you have pending claim, contact us today for a free consultation.
The Social Security Administration offers two disability programs to disabled Americans:
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is a program available to those that have sufficient work history and have paid enough into Social Security. If approved for SSDI, your monthly check amount will be determined based off your past earnings and you will then receive Medicare coverage, after a waiting period.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a program available to those that may have never worked or have not paid enough into Social Security, and fall under a certain income limit. If approved for SSI, your monthly check amount is based off the current year’s set Federal Benefit Rate. In Texas, you will also receive Medicaid coverage, and in some instances, you may receive retroactive SSI Medicaid coverage to help cover any unpaid hospital or doctor visits. There is no waiting period for SSI Medicaid.
You may be eligible for either one of these programs, or even both. Our goal is to make this process as easy and stress-free as possible for you. Our dedicated team is always a phone call, text, or email away. At Midcities Disability Advocates, we’re committed to providing excellent service and results. Contact us today for a free consultation, and if eligible, we can get your application started right away.
